Bendigo’s own Science & Technology Centre is presenting a fun and inspiring program of film, trivia and multiculturalism during National Science Week. National Science Week is 20 years old and now involves over a million people across Australia.
On Thursday August 17th, people are invited to a screening of Scinema, presenting science films from across the world. From planning the journey of the first humans to Mars to studying different struggles for survival at the smallest levels of life, the films don’t just tell great stories, but are also selected for their cinematic quality. Presented in Discovery’s newly refurbished auditorium the large screen will bring Scinema to life.
On Friday afternoon, August 18th, Discovery is hosting the Loddon Campaspe Multicultural Service, inviting families that are new to Bendigo to experience hands-on interactive science and technology learning. ” General Manager Jonathan Ridnell said. “Discovery isn’t necessarily on these families’ radar, so with the support of the Department of Science it’s a pleasure to invite new Bendigonians to the centre.”
On Saturday night, August 19th, every trivia buff in Bendigo is invited to Discovery’s Science Week Trivia extravaganza. There will be science demonstrations, plenty of general trivia, and games to make this fundraiser a lot of fun for the whole family. Book a table by phoning 5444 4400.
