In the lead-up to Homelessness Week – held August 6th to 13th – Maryborough District Health Service has teamed up with the Victorian Homelessness Network to help create 6000 origami houses to place on the steps of Victoria’s parliament.
The health service hosted two working bees to enable staff members to get involved and also acted as a collection point for community members to drop off origami houses.
The paper homes were part of a campaign to demonstrate the scale of the state’s housing and homelessness crisis.
