Eight Victorian Aboriginal healthcare providers have made history after a ceremony held at the Bendigo and Districts Aboriginal Co-operative on Friday.
The eight newly-qualified workers received their accreditation to apply fluoride varnish to children’s teeth in a training program funded by the State Department of Health.
The program – co-ordinated by Dental Health Services Victoria – will allow for a further 14 graduates to complete the training, allowing each graduate to deliver two fluoride varnish appointments, covering some 350 First Nations children.
