Across the nation, 17 rallies will be held to show support for women in light of a drastic increase in gender-based violence.
Held by an indigenous-led not-for-profit ‘What Were You Wearing’, the event comes after 25 women died from gender-based violence nationally since the year began.
Bendigo residents will come together at Rosalind Park on Sunday, as part of the national rally against violence.
Local Advocate, Velma Walters says this rally is an opportunity for locals – including local men – to stand with women and say enough is enough.
Melbourne Event-Organiser and Social Media manager for WWYW, Martina Ferrara, encourages as many locals as possible to attend Sunday’s rally.
