
The best sheep shearers in Australia and New Zealand are in Bendigo for the return of the Australian National Shearing and Wool Handling Championships this weekend.

The event was supposed to be run during the Bendigo Show, however it was carried forward to the last weekend of November.
Paul McCormick from the Championships said there are representatives from every state in Australia.

“We have a good contingent of people,” he said.
“We have a trans-Tasman event which is New Zealand versus Australia in a challenge,”.
Teams will be hoping to perform well as they vye for a spot at the World Championships next July in Scotland.

The Championships are free entry and run all day Saturday and Sunday at the Bendigo Showgrounds.
