King Charles III has written to Victorian Governor Linda Dessau pledging a donation to Victorian flood victims.

In a statement on Twitter, His Majesty The King said he and his wife, queen consort, Camilla had been following the “terrible floods” with “great concern”.
“Whilst I realize that this emergency is not over, I do want to pay tribute to the extraordinary efforts of those members of the emergency services.”
He added that the community spirit he’s witnessed has been “particularly inspiring”.

“Our heartfelt thoughts are with all those affected and for the losses that have been suffered,” His Majesty said.
Buckingham Palace, however, did not disclose the figure they would be giving, simply that state government-partnered charity GIVIT would be receiving the support.
