According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Wednesday was the coldest August morning recorded in nine years.
The weather station at Bendigo Airport recorded a minimum temperature of -3.9 degrees Celsius.
This comes just after Bendigo recorded its driest start to August in nearly a decade with just over 11 millimetres of rain recorded in the first 14 days of the month.
