Bendigo’s council will tonight consider the involvement of local architects, designers and tradespeople for the construction of the Commonwealth Games athlete’s village.
More than 100 residents have petitioned the local government to ensure Central Victorian businesses are put front and centre.

The former La Trobe University Bendigo Teachers College in Flora Hill has been rezoned to public land to accommodate the village.
The Village master plan is currently being mapped out by city officials, with construction hoped to start later this year.
