Specially-trained search dogs are being deployed to Maryborough over the next fortnight in what’s hoped will be the final search operation in the case of missing local boy Terry Floyd.

Floyd went missing in Avoca in June 1975.
The dogs, travelling from Sydney, can smell human remains and will search the area around an abandoned mine near the Pyrenees Highway.

Terry’s brother Daryl founded the Terry Floyd Foundation, set up to turn Terry’s legacy into a positive one by supporting children to live brighter lives.
Former MP for Northern Victoria Tania Maxwell raised the cold case in state parliament last year, prompting renewed action on the search for Floyd’s body.
