Meanwhile, in the Macedon Ranges and Greater Daylesford region, an extreme fire danger rating is in place.
 
Residents are advised to take action now to protect yourself and your property. 
 
Closer to town in Maryborough and Castlemaine, a high fire danger rating is in place, meaning residents should be ready to act throughout the day.

In addition, V/Line has activated a full extreme heat timetable for all train lines.
 
It means most Bendigo services will run slower or be replaced by buses.
