Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are searching for a cause of a single-car crash in Echuca which killed two, including an 11-year-old boy.
Police say the car was traveling along the Murray Valley Highway when it struck a tree near Mt Terrick Road just after 12.30 pm and caught fire.
The driver, a 23-year-old Echuca man, was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a stable condition and is assisting police with their enquiries.

So far in 2024, nine people have died on Victorian roads.
