Investigations are underway following an explosion at a Bendigo car-washing business.
That explosion occurred around 10.50am on Tuesday, August 26th in the suburb of Kennington.
Ambulance Victoria confirmed to Gold Central Victoria that its paramedics responded to the incident.
“A specialist Air Ambulance Victoria helicopter crew, as well as Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedics assessed and treated one patient,” a spokesperson told our newsroom.
“A man in his 50s was airlifted to the Alfred Hospital with upper body injuries in a critical condition.”
Police and firefighters also attended the scene.
Early reports indicate the explosion was an accident caused by a mixture of chemicals stored at the Condon Street business, with the injured person believed to be an employee.
In a statement to our newsroom, a WorkSafe spokesman said inspectors have attended the incident and “will determine if further action is required.”
