An coronial investigation into the death of a 67-year-old man who was being cared for at a Bendigo disability service’s accommodation facility, is now underway.
Peter O’Brien died last year after he was found unconscious and not breathing in the early hours of August 1.
The Coroners Court of Victoria heard on Thursday staff at Murphy House found Mr O’Brien unresponsive after he was accidentally given another resident’s medication.
The inquest is considering whether medication errors contributed to the death.
The founder of facility operator SASS, Sharron Andrea, told the court she welcomed the investigation into why a client died while in their care
Another hearing will be held on a date to be set.
