The death of a woman in Kangaroo Flat overnight is being investigated by Homicide Squad detectives and Major Crime Scene Unit officers.
Emergency services were called to a home on High Street following reports a woman had been injured, just before midnight Sunday.
Local police attended the scene, where they found the woman unresponsive and two children who were home but uninjured.

The woman was taken to hospital but was later declared dead.
Police say a 44-year-old Junortoun man was arrested near a reservoir off North Harcourt Road, and is being interviewed and cooperating with police.
The area has been cordoned off and a crime scene has been established which may cause some delays to local traffic.
