The head of Remembrance Parks Central Victoria, Emma Flukes, has been stood down from her role as CEO.
It comes after dozens of families and friends of relatives, buried in cemeteries across the region, came forward and shared their emotional stories of sentimental items being removed from grave stones.
In addition, more than 100 protestors attended Eaglehawk cemetery on Wednesday calling on her resignation.
The peak body has said in a statement that they “should have communicated more widely before acting the way they did”.
