A Bendigo Burglar has learned the hard way that crime does not ‘give you wings’ after he stole five cans of energy drink from a service station in Eaglehawk.

Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify an unknown man who smashed the front door of a service station on Peg Leg Road with a trolley.

Police say he “didn’t earn any reward points with police when he ran from the scene, legging it down Peg Leg Road.”

Investigators have released CCTV footage and an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, of a slim build, and may be exhibiting sudden bursts of energy.
