More regional specialised health centres could also be the solution to bolster rural services, according to a recent national study.

A La Trobe University researchers explored the barriers regional and rural patients face including travelling far distances and a shortage of healthcare services.

Director of Bendigo Sleep Lab and Sleep Scientist, Linda Sawyer, says specialised services are still reeling following the pandemic.

Sawyer says the issue that clinics face is a shortage of skilled staff.
