Director of the Castlemaine State Festival, Glyn Roberts, hopes his final year at the helm contributes to one of the biggest festivals to date.
Roberts has told Gold that putting home grown talent on show has been a point of pride in his 6 years in charge.
“The fact that we can present around one-third of local artistry, against one-third national and sometimes one-third international, is just testament to the high quality of artists and creativity that we have in our region.”
Roberts added that the festival has got capacity to sell up to 20,000 tickets and brings in somewhere under $2 million in net revenue.
“We are always punching above our weight,” he said.
“The future is bright for the Castlemaine State Festival and I am thrilled for whoever fills the role of Festival Director and CEO next”
