Vaping Drops Among Regional Men

Regional men vape less than their metro counterparts, with experts believing less availability and access is a key reason for the gap.

These fresh figures raise awareness of the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use this World No Tobacco Day.

Vaping rates have increased to 13% nationally, however, that figure is notably lower at nine percent in Inner Regional areas and eight percent in outer regional and remote areas.

Dr Constantine Gasser from the Australian Institute of Family Studies says the findings suggest restricting access could be critical in reducing vaping-related harms.

Greater Bendigo Council is taking a stand against vaping in public spaces, trialling a ban at sports grounds, public gardens and nearby playspaces.
