The daughter of a murdered Ballarat grandmother has spoken of her grief at a media event yesterday.

Kathleen Severino was brutally murdered at her Drummond Street home on new years eve more than 33 years ago with detectives announcing a $1m reward yesterday.

Glenda says the events of 1987 have broken the family.
