A miner has died at the Agnico Eagle-operated Fosterville gold mine, located near Axedale, on Monday evening. 

 

Emergency services responded to the scene but the worker was pronounced dead at around 7pm. 

 

According to reports, the multi-national mining company Agnico Eagle has suspended production.
