A man has been charged following a firearms incident in Axe Creek on Friday night.
The 50-year-old Axe Creek man has been charged with reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and common law assault.
He faced Bendigo Magistrate’s Court yesterday and has been bailed to a treatment facility.
He will appear in court again on 26 February.
The charges follow an incident where a single shot was allegedly fired by the man at an address on Axe Creek Road about 11.30pm on 9 February.
No one was injured during the incident.
Reports a firearm was discharged at a police helicopter are incorrect.
Police returned fire with a single shot during the incident and as per standard procedure when a police member discharges a firearm, Professional Standard Command will investigate the incident.
