Bendigo received a downpour of rain last night as a cold front moved through central and western Victoria from South Australia.
From 7:30pm to 11pm last night, 5.4mm of rain fell as wind speeds ramped up, with the highest speed a 46km/h westerly that blew through the region around 9:45pm.
The wild weather also saw several homes lose power overnight, with over a thousand homes around Bendigo and close to 800 in Macedon left in the dark.
Powercor says the storm activity was to blame for the outage, but service was restored to Macedon homes around 9:30pm, while some around North Bendigo had to wait until the early hours of this morning for power to be re-connected.
Last night's rain won't be the last of the wet in Bendigo either, with a possible shower or two still likely for much of today and tomorrow.
