Bendigo Health will soon have over 20 new staff thanks to funding from the state government.
The hospital has begun recruiting for staff in oncology, cardiology, and haematology, which will help deliver an extra 15,000 appointments a year.
Doctors, nurses, allied health and administrative staff are among those being hired for the new roles.
The state government is also providing funding for Bendigo Health to open or expand 22 specialist clinics in the coming year so locals can be treated in town instead of travelling to Melbourne.
