The re-opening date for the Castlemaine Library has been delayed.
The library, which is undergoing major renovations, won't be back in action until the first week of November.
The slight delay has been caused by some unforeseen issues with the old sandstone foundations underneath the floor, which have since been resolved.
“With older buildings it’s hard to predict what’s under the floor and this means we’ll be staying in the pop-up library at the Market Building for a few weeks longer than expected,” said Castlemaine Library Manager Jess Saunders.
“We’ll need a few days to relocate our collection, set up the computers and shelves, check everything in and make sure we’re ready to open,” she said.
“The community has been so supportive and we really appreciate everyone’s patience,” she added.
