The Bendigo Spirit have scored their first win for the 2019-20 WNBL season after a double header weekend.
The Spirit took on the Melbourne Boomers again in round 2 of the WNBL, but were unable to hold off the side and avoid a repeat of the first round, going down by 4 points, final score 74 to 70.
Kelly Wilson was recognised as the top scorer for the local team, scoring 19 points, seven assists, three rebounds and two steals.
But it was at the Bendigo Stadium yesterday that saw the Spirit shine, taking down the Perth Lynx team by 12 points after a neck and neck game, final score 91 to 79.
Carly Ernst was awarded the MVP and top scorer for the game, shooting 29 points, 16 rebounds, four assists and three steals.
The Bendigo Spirit are now sixth on the WNBL ladder, and will meet with the Southside Flyers on Saturday, with tip off scheduled for 5pm.
