Federal Bendigo MP Lisa Chesters announced yesterday that a Labor Government will invest $4.4 million to extend the terminal at Bendigo Airport should they win the federal election.
It was hoped that the terminal would see dedicated funding in the Morrison Government's federal budget which was unveiled two weeks ago.
With Qantas now flying in and out of Bendigo, Chesters stated that the current terminal wasn't up to aviation safety standards, and only seats an estimated 30 people, which simply isn't enough considering the demand for the service is predicted to continue growing.
Chesters was joined at the airport yesterday by Shadow Minister for Regional Services Stephen Jones, who said that an extended terminal would bring in larger planes to Bendigo, as well as more tourists.
