Every Little Step He Takes

Singer, songwriter and sometimes actor Bobby Brown is 51 on the 5th of February.

Bobby was only 12 when he formed the pop group New Edition in 1981.

Their first single Candy Girl just cracked the US Top 50 and was a top 10 hit in Australia.

The singing group released eight singles with Bobby until he was fired at the end of '85 due to behavioural problems.

In '86 Bobby released his first solo album and in '88 his second album Don't Be Cruel was a Number 1 hit.

It spawned the top 10 hits Every Little Step I Take, My Prerogative, Roni and the title track.

In '89 he met Whitney Houston at the Soul Train Awards and Bobby attended her 20th birthday party in August of that year.

The music superstars married in July '92 and had a daughter the following year.

The couple released the duet Something In Common in '93.

Brown released two albums in the 90's, the hit Bobby and the miss Forever in '97.

Bobby and Whitney separated in 2006 and divorced in 2007.

Bobby released a new album in 2012 called The Masterpiece.

Tragically Whiitney Houston died in February 2012 and their daughter Bobbi Kristina passed away in 2015.

As an actor Bobby appeared in Ghostbusters II and he has made a number of cameos in films often playing himself.

New Edition have reformed a number of times over the years firstly in 1990 at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Bobby has undoubted musical ability but sadly his personal life has often overshadowed his talent.
