The Wall Tour by Pink Floyd started on the 7th of February 1980.
The band's eleventh album The Wall was released in November 1979 and became one of the biggest sellers of all time with sales in excess of 20 million.
Roger Waters wrote all of the track's lyrics and Dave Gilmour composed some of the music.
As a band, relationships were at an all time low and keyboard player Richard Wright had left the group after the recording of the album.
Wright returned to the group for the tour as a salaried musician and ended up being the only band member to make any money from the venture.
The band played 31 shows starting in Los Angelas and finishing in London in June 1981.
