The tv show Neighbours debuted on the 18th of March 1985.

The show was set in Melbourne and broadcast on Channel 7.

It was axed after 170 episodes at the end of the first season as it was not rating well in Sydney.

Network Ten picked up the show from 1986 and it moved to one of it's digital channel's Peach from 2011.

Some of the original cast included Stefan Dennis as Paul Robinson, Alan Dale as his father Jim, Anne Haddy as Helen Daniels, Paul Keane played Des Clark and Daphne Lawrence was actress Elaine Smith.

Some of most popular stars on the show over the years include Kylie Minogue, Margot Robbie, Natalie Imbruglia, Jason Donovan, Delta Goodrem, Guy Pearce, Natalie Bassingthwaite, Holly Valance, Rachel Friend, Alan Fletcher, Brooke Satchwell, Ian Smith, Kym Valentine, Mark Little, Jane Hall, Craig McLachlan and Bouncer.

Neighbours is Australia's longest running drama series.
