Irish singer, songwriter and musician Chris de Burgh is 71 on the 15th of October.
In '74 Chris scored a recording contract and he supported Supertramp before releasing his debut album called Far Beyond These Castle Walls.
He released a further four albums before his first hit Don't Pay The Ferryman came in '82.
He had wait four more years before success came again but it came big.
The Lady In Red reached Number One in the UK and just missed the top spot in America and Australia.
In the 80's he had other hits Missing You, Tender Hands and A Spaceman Came Travelling.
Some of his chart songs in the 90's include Separate Tables, So Beautiful and The Simple Truth.
Chris has sold over 40 milion records worldwide and his most recent album came out in 2016.
