The supergroup The Traveling Wilburys released their first single, Handle With Care, on the 17th of October 1988.
ELO's Jeff Lynne had produced George Harrison's album Cloud Nine in '87 and they spoke about putting together a supergroup.
George chose Bob Dylan and Jeff picked Roy Orbison.
They both knew Tom Petty and he completed the five piece band.
Handle With Care was a Top 10 hit around the world and the album called Volume 1 contained other singles End Of The Line and Heading For The Light.
Sadly Roy Orbison died on the 6th of December '88.
The Wilburys did not replace him on their second release which had the unusual title of Volume 3.
