Musician, songwriter and member of The Blues Brothers Band, Steve "The Colonel" Cropper, is 78 on the 21st of October.
Steve's first band was The Royal Spades with Charlie Freeman, the group who became The Mar-Keys and had the hit Last Night in '61.
He later joined the Stax house band Booker T & The MG's, who has the hit Green Onions in '62.
Steve played on classic songs like Sittin' On The Dock of The Day by Otis Redding and Soul Man by Sam & Dave.
As a songwriter he wrote In The Midnight Hour, Knock On Wood aswell as Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay.
He was part of the legendary Blues Brothers Band and appears in the classic movie released in 1980.
Cropper regularly appears on and near the top of lists of the greatest guitar players of all time.
