Bass player and founding member of Def Leppard, Rick Savage, is 59 on the 2nd of December.
Rick formed his first band at school with schoolmates including future Def Leppard member Pete Willis.
Atomic Mass became Def Leppard after Joe Elliott and Steve Clark joined.
The band's first album On Through The Night released in 1980 broke into the Top 20 and the follow ups High 'n' Dry and Pyromania also charted and sold well.
The band fourth album Hysteria became the band's biggest seller cracking the 25 million mark and hitting Number One around the world.
The album spawned seven singles including Pour Some Sugar On Me, Love Bites, Rocket and Let's Get Rocked.
Fans had to wait five years for the follow up, 1992's Adrenalize, which also cracked the top spot.
The band has released a further six albums, the most recent one being self titled in 2015.
Def Leppard are one of the biggest selling hard rock bands of all time and were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year.
