Sugar Drinks

So it appears a new warning has come out outlining how much sugar is in a frozen drink.

Apparently some of these drinks contain almost half an entire week's recommended maximum sugar intake.

LiveLighter and Rethink Sugary Drink, an alliance of 18 Australian health agencies, have teamed up to launch the ‘Don’t Be Sucked In’ campaign, warning that some large-size frozen drinks contain as much as 20.4 teaspoons of sugar.

“Slurpees are without a doubt one of the worst foods heavily marketed in the Australian food supply,” nutritionist Susie Burrell told news.com.au.

“Not only are they are complete sugar overload but they are marketed to our most vulnerable groups — children and teens,” Ms Burrell said.

So do you ever buy these drinks?
