Singer and songwriter Ella Hooper is 36 on the 30th of January.
Ella grew up in the small Victorian rural town of Violet Town with her older brother Jesse.
The siblings wrote and then performed songs in 1996 at a local arts festival with a couple of schoolmates completing the band.
Their first big break came when they won a music competition with the track Kettle.
In '97 the line up changed and in 98 and 99 they recorded Killing Heidi's debut album Reflector.
Their first single Weir went top 10 and the follow up Mascara went to Number One, as did the album.
Their second album Present missed the Top 10 but 2004's self titled reached Number 7.
Some of the band's other hits include I Am, Heavensent and Live Without It.
Ella has also performed and released music as a solo artist and in the side project The Verses with Jesse.
She has appeared on the music tv shows Spicks & Specks and Rockwiz.
Ella was kind enough to say hi and pose for a photo at a recent gig.
