Singer and songwriter Paul Simon released his debut solo single Mother & Child Reunion on the 5th of February 1972.
When Simon & Garfunkel broke up in 1970, Paul began writing and recording solo material again.
He released his self titled album in January 1972.
Mother & Child Union was the first single from the album and it went Top 5 in Australia, America and the UK.
The title came from a chicken and egg meal on a menu in a Chinese restaurant.
