Swedish singer, songwriter and musician with Roxette, Marie Fredriksson is 61 on the 30th of May.
Marie joined a music school when she was 17 and wrote and starred in a musical.
She formed the punk band Strul before embarking on a solo career.
She met Per Gessle and formed Roxette in 1986.
After having a number of hits in Sweden, the duo's internationl break through came with The Look, which reached Number One in America.
Other hits in the 80's and 90's included Dressed For Success, It Must Have Been Love, Joyride and Fading Like A Flower.
In 2002 Marie was diagnosed with a brain tumor and the band took an indefinate break.
After significant time off and treatment, Marie returned to Roxette and the duo released new music and resumed touring.
The band's tenth album Good Karma was released in 2016 but a planned tour was cancelled upon advice from Marie's doctor.
