The Day The Fab 4 Were Honoured

The Beatles were awarded M.B.E.s on the 12th of June 1965.

The band attended Buckingham Palace on the 26th of October to receive the medals.

John Lennon took his to his Aunt's place, where it stayed for four years.

In a protest against the British government's involvement in war, Lennon returned the medal in 1969.

In the 70's he said returning the award was a mistake.
