Angry Is Still A Bad Boy

Singer, songwriter and occasional actor Angry Anderson is 72 on the 5th of August.

Gary Anderson's nickname of Angry Ant (later just Angry) came during his youth from his volatile and aggressive nature.

In the early 70's he fronted rock band Peace Power and Purity and then Buster Brown.

In '76 he joined Rose Tattoo and their biggest hit came the following year, Bad Boy For Love.

In the 70's and 80's the band had hits like Rock 'n' Roll Outlaw, We Can't Be Beaten, I Wish and a great cover of Born To Be Wild.

Rose Tattoo have had numerous line up changes over the years and sadly members Peter Wells, Ian Rilen, Mick Cocks, Dallas Royal and Lobby Loyde are no longer with us.

Angry had a huge solo hit in 1987 when his song Suddenly appeared in the Neighbours episode when Charlene married Scott.

Angry has appeared in 14 films with the most successful being Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.
