Singer, songwriter and tv personality Geri Halliwell (now Horner) is 47 on the 6th of August.
Before becoming a Spice Girl, Geri worked as a nightclub dancer and model.
In '94 she answered an ad looking for aspiring singers to be part of a new all girl pop group.
The Spice Girls debut single Wannabe released in '96 became a smash hit and Spice Mania had arrived.
After two years of hits and headlines, Geri left the group in May '98.
The Spice Girls continued without her releasing another album before breaking up.
Geri's first solo single Look At Me was a hit as were further songs Lift Me Up, Scream If You Wanna Go Faster and a cover of It's Raining Men.
In 2012 she reunited with the other Spice Girls to perform at the closing cermony of the London Olympic Games.
This year Geri with Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisolm and Melanie Brown reunited to tour as The Spice Girls.
Victoria Beckham decided not to join the tour however it is hoped she may join the girls for some shows.
