Paul McCartney and his band Wings recorded their classic song Mull Of Kintyre on the 9th of August 1977.
The track was written with Wings band mate Denny Laine about the Kintyre peninsula in Scotland, where Paul owned a farm.
The song was released in November of '77 and became Number One in the UK over Christmas, staying on top of the charts for a staggering nine weeks.
It was the first single to sell over two million in the UK becoming the biggest selling song of all time in Britain, overtaking The Beatles She Loves You.
This sales record stood until 1984 when the charity single Do They Know It's Christmas sold more than Mull Of Kintyre.
