The youngest Pointer Sister, June, passed away on the 11th of April 2006.
The origins of the Pointer Sisters started in 1969 when sisters June and Bonnie Pointer started performing in clubs using the name, "Pointers, a Pair".
Sisters Anita and Ruth had joined by 1972 and the quartet called The Pointer Sisters were born.
In 1977 Bonnie left the group and the classic trio was finalised.
In 78 they had their break through hit "Fire", a cover of a Bruce Springsteen song.
In the 80's that had hit after hit including Jump, I'm So Excited, Automatic, He's So Shy and Neutron Dance from the movie Beverley Hill Cop.
June Pointer was 52 when she died of lung cancer.
