Singer, songwriter, musician and producer Daryl Hall is 72 on the 11th of October.
Daryl started his musical career while at high school and met John Oates in 1967 at university.
They started recording together in 69 and released their first album Whole Oates in 72.
Their first small dent on the charts came in 73 when the song She's Gone reached number 60.
Their first real hit came in 75 when Sara Smile made the top 5.
She's Gone was then re-released and this time it cracked the top 10.
Rich Girl hit Number One in 77 starting a string of hits for them in the 70's and 80's including Out Of Touch, Private Eyes, I Can't Go For That and Maneater.
Tours and record releases since 1990 have been scarse with the duo only releasing five albums.
Daryl Hall & John Oates were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
Daryl has worked with other artists and released seven solo albums.
