Aussie singer Daryl Braithwaite is 70 on the 11th of Januray.
Daryl played in various bands as a teenager joining Sherbet when he was 21.
The band's second single Can You Feel It, Baby just missed the Top 20 and they had their first Top 10 hit Cassandra two years later.
The band's other hits in the 70's included Howzat, Summer Love, Silvery Moon and Slipstream.
Daryl's first solo release, You're My World, hit Number One in 74.
Sherbet broke up in 79 but reformed the next year as The Sherbs.
Success didn't come a second time around for the band and by 84 The Sherbs were no more.
Daryl left the music industry for a while but made a come back in 88 with the great album Edge.
It produced the hits One Summer, All I Do and As The Days Go By.
Daryl biggest hit came in 91 with a cover of the Rickie Lee Jones and Walter Becker song The Horses.
Sherbet has reunited a few times over the years and in 2006 released a compilation with two new tracks.
Daryl has remained popular with numerous live shows each year and the occasional new release.
