The Wake Up Call is a unique mix of news, views, fun and entertainment. A tad irreverent, but mainly devoted to keeping Central Victoria connected to what really matters in their streets, neighbourhoods and communities. We can't believe we're getting paid to do this.

Wayne Gregson

Wayne has been a journalist all his working life - and hopes to get a real job one day. He started at the age of 16 and in the decades since, he's worked in newsrooms in Mildura, Ballarat, Hobart, Melbourne and Bendigo. He was awarded a Walkley Award for journalism, spent 10 years as editor of the Bendigo Advertiser, served as a city councillor, chairs Bendigo Heritage and in his spare time he's a gardener, and keen collector of just about everything, including classic and sports cars and shares his life and lunch with two almost tame Corgis, two cats and two insane chooks. Oh, and Linda, of course.

Bruce Lees

Bruce has a passion for radio that goes back to the 1970’s talking on CB and then ham radio.  Having become attached to the microphone he decided to go back to school to qualify as a Broadcast Radio Technician and Announcer.  Bruce worked on air in Horsham and Melbourne before coming to Bendigo in 1988.  Can radio run in a person’s blood?  If so, it runs in Bruce's.
Other interests include travelling in the outback, France (very occasionally), science, good food and wine, music, and family.
Bruce's primary role in The Wake Up Call is to sit back in awe of Wayne’s encyclopedic knowledge of all that is Bendigo and beyond, and help him present it to our listeners.
