LEGO - NETFLIX

If you haven’t had the infectious chorus of “Golden” stuck in your head for the last six months, are you even living? Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters hasn’t just broken the internet; it has shattered records, won Grammys, and now, it’s finally making the jump into our toy boxes.

LEGO and Netflix officially announced a multi-year partnership today to bring the HUNTR/X universe to life in brick form. While we’ve been waiting (not so) patiently for physical merch since the film debuted in June 2025, the wait is almost over. The first set is slated for a US Summer 2026 launch, with pre-orders opening soon.

A “Derpy” First Look

The debut set focuses on arguably the real star of the film: Derpy, the supernatural tiger. A teaser video released by LEGO shows a sneak peek of a brick-built blue paw knocking over a potted plant. It’s a cheeky nod to Derpy’s recurring struggle in the movie, his desperate, thumb-less attempts to tidy up after his own clumsy accidents.

We think this will be designed for the 9+ crowd, LEGO is pitching this as a “play and display” model, meaning it’ll look just as good on a collector’s shelf as it does in the middle of a demon-hunting floor session.

Why the Wait?

You might be wondering why it’s taken a full year to get a LEGO set for the most-watched Netflix movie of all time (clocking over 500 million views and counting). It turns out, even Netflix didn’t realise they had a “Baby Yoda” level phenomenon on their hands.

The entertainment industry was caught off guard by just how fast HUNTR/X sprinted into the cultural zeitgeist. Toy development typically takes 12 to 18 months, so the fact that we’re seeing sets arriving a year post-premiere suggests that LEGO moved at supernatural speeds to get these contracts signed.

The Great Minifigure Debate

While the 2026 release is all about Derpy, LEGO has confirmed that more sets are coming in 2027. This is where the fan theories are really heating up. Will we get traditional LEGO minifigures or the more slender minidolls (like those seen in the LEGO Friends or Wicked lines) for Rumi, Mira, and Zoey? The big question is how will it integrate with the new LEGO Smart Brick that won hearts and minds at CES this year.

The Merchandise Avalanche

LEGO is just one piece of a very large, very glittery puzzle. 2026 is officially the year of KPop Demon Hunters merch:

  • Mattel: Multiple product lines launching throughout the year.
  • American Girl: Released 18-inch dolls of the HUNTR/X trio.
  • Hasbro: Dropping a Derpy-themed Furby, a special edition Monopoly, and NERF gear inspired by the girls’ demon-hunting weapons.
  • Funko & Squishmallows: Funko Pops are available now, and Squishmallow versions of Derpy and Sussie the magpie are currently on pre-order.

What’s Next for HUNTR/X?

If you can’t wait until summer for your fix, keep your eyes on Coachella in April. The real-life vocalists behind the group are set to make their international debut there. Plus, with “Golden” up for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards on 15 March, we might see a full-blown performance on the Oscars stage.

Netflix has already greenlit a sequel for 2029, so it looks like the demon-hunting (and the brick-building) is only just beginning.
