Summer may be coming to a close this weekend, but the heightened fire danger remains for much of Victoria.
The latest Seasonal Bushfire Outlook has been released by authorities, showing much of the state faces an increased risk of blazes developing in autumn.
Only the Mallee region and East Gippsland are considered to be under “normal” fire conditions, as seen below.

According to the report, recent months of warmer-than-average temperatures and low rainfall have resulted in high fuel loads across bushland, farming and forest areas .
It also warns of a higher chance of above-average temperatures and below-average rainfall from March to May.
“As a result, an extended drying pattern will continue post-summer and will translate to continued increases in fuel availability across most of the state,” the report reads.
Meantime, the CFA says the Fire Danger Period will be in-place for all local government areas until May 1st.
