Bendigo Motorists Slugged with Further Calder Freeway Delays

Bendigo motorists have been given no indication as to when the 60km/h zones will be removed from the Calder Freeway, as summer holidays near and, with it, an increase in travel to and from the region.

Media outlets have reported that a further 18 resurfacing projects are planned between now until June next year on the Calder. 
 
President of the Victorian Transport Association Peter Anderson spoke to 3AW this morning.

He said more needs to be done to speed up works on the “fiercely damaged” central and northern Victorian roads.
 
“Where is the priority, how are they prioritised and what’s the actually timeframe of the repair process?” 
 
It’s not just arterial roads, Mr Anderson said, that need repairs and resurfacing, also the “McIvor Highway and around Heathcote, and even going out as far as Donald and Birchip”.
