Bendigo police have begun going through CCTV footage as they hunt for a group suspected of being involved in a brutal stabbing in the city’s CBD.
A 41-year-old man remains in Bendigo Hospital suffering from multiple stab wounds after being attacked in Bath Lane on Thursday night.
Police say the victim staggered into the Bendigo Sporting Globe Bar and Grill in Hargreaves St at around 9pm, where staff called emergency services.
He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital by road ambulance.
Late last night the man was reported to be in a serious condition.

Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit detectives believe the man was set upon by up to six teenagers before stumbling about 600 metres to the Sporting Globe.
Officers last night spoke with witnesses and searched the area but were unable to find the people involved.

Police were back at the scene this morning and say the investigation remains onglong.
